On May 8, India retaliated by attacking cities like Rawalpindi, Lahore and Karachi and their air defense radars and systems. According to reports, the air defense system in Lahore was destroyed.

Pakistan then retaliated by launching multiple drone attacks on several areas along India's western border, including Jammu, Pathankot and Udhampur.

The Indian Air Force immediately responded by using systems like S-400 Triumph, Barak-8 MRSAM and indigenous Akash missiles and successfully creating an air defense system by activating a layered defense system.

The May 7-9 attacks and counterattacks entered a dangerous cycle that has created wider tensions in the region.

Tensions between India and Pakistan reached a boiling point.
